Hi, I’m Maddie!

I enjoy seeing the big picture and developing strategies that will build community and interagency resilience. Within the face of disaster, preparedness is a key component to save lives and economic resources within a community. Building back better is a mentality that requires in-depth assessments, community engagement and inter-agency involvement for best results. When done correctly, community resilience continues to increase while social vulnerabilities decrease. This is my dream.

About Me

I am a recent graduate from Tulane University where I studied a dual master’s degree in Social Work and Disaster Resilience Leadership. I have intensely studied vulnerabilities of national and international populations and understand the social components to strength building, individual and community resilience and community engagement. My hope is to work within the long-term recovery sector of the disaster space, empowering community growth and building long term solutions through a community strengths lens. As I continue to excel in my professional career, I hope to expand my knowledge in the disaster and social work arenas.
